Jamie Bunce, Director at TPS has been part of the £150m leisure and entertainment destination, Resorts World, for the last six years and 1/2 years. Jamie acted as Development Manager on the project and worked from early design inception through to the planning application process, contractor procurement, leasing strategy, occupier selection and details for agreement for leases to completion and opening of the completed development on 21st October 2015.
Resorts World Birmingham is the first destination to integrate outlet shopping, cinema, gaming, conferencing, hotel and spa, restaurants and bars all under one roof and has transformed the way leisure and entertainment is consumed in the UK. Built over seven floors and equating to over ½ million sq. ft. in total floor space, it offers a wide range of leisure and entertainment. It has employed 1150 people and is the first large scale outlet shopping experience in the West Midlands with 51 units including high profile brands such as Gap Outlet, Next Outlet, Nike Factory Store, Vans, The North Face, Pretty Green and Carhartt to name a few.
It is also home to an eleven screen cinema and Cineworld’s first purpose built IMAX screen in the UK. There are 18 bars & restaurants including TGI Friday, Pizza Express, Las Iguanas and Patisserie Valerie together with new bars and restaurants specifically developed for this resort. The Genting Hotel within Resorts World Birmingham will provide guests with 178 four star rooms and five star suites and be the first to open in Europe. The resorts has over 600 car park spaces within the scheme together with a further 2,000 spaces externally.
